 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Nollywood Actor Ayobami Olabiyi a.k.a Bobo B is Dead


The Nollywood industry has been hit with another sad loss as legendary Yoruba actor, Ayobami Mudashir Olabiyi, popularly known as Bobo B, is reportedly dead.


The actor, who had been a popular actor in the Yoruba movie industry, was pronounced dead after a period of illness.


According to reports, Olabiyi, who was supposed to be on a movie set in Oyo last month, could not make it due to his deteriorating health.


He was admitted to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was reportedly unable to speak or move before his death.


The heartbreaking news was made public by the Oyo State governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Yeye Bose Akinola, who confirmed that Olabiyi, until his death, was the National Secretary of TAMPAN and had previously served as the governor of the association in Oyo State.


In her statement, Akinola said, “I have a directive of the Oyo State TAMPAN governor, Her Excellency Yeye Bose Akinola, to announce the death of our TAMPAN National General Secretary, Chief Alhaji Musadshir Ayobami Olabiyi ‘Bobo B.’ May God give his family and the entire TAMPAN members globally the fortitude to bear the loss. Insha Allah, Amen.”

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
