 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Our attention has been drawn to the flagrant violation and disregard for safety around our electricity poles by individuals and some corporate organizations, for private and commercial use. It is imperative to state that these acts not only portend great danger to the perpetrators and members of the public but also inhibit our operations which ultimately affects the quality of service to our esteemed customers. To this end, our team of technicians will commence the removal of unauthorized assets on our poles across the six Business units as well as explore available extant laws guiding the use of these facilities, with a bid to prosecute errant offenders to serve as a deterrent to others. This information is coming to you as part of our proactive approach for identifying risks and mitigating it, in line with our corporate policy of adhering to world class safety and regulatory standards for the well-being of customers and staff alike.
