 "It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth". Njideks Akunyili is the daughter of Dora Akunyili, who was the Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) of Nigeria from 2001 to 2008.  A fake Home Affairs office facilitating illegal marriages between illegal immigrants and South African women has been uncovered


This sophisticated scheme involved acquiring identity documents of South African women and marrying them off to undocumented foreign nationals. Shockingly, a preliminary investigation has implicated at least one Department of Home Affairs official in colluding with suspects to facilitate fraudulent paperwork.


The raid resulted in the seizure of numerous application forms, identity document copies, and electronic devices believed to have been used in processing these illegal marriages. This isn't the first time such incidents have occurred. In the past, Home Affairs officials have been arrested for facilitating fraudulent marriages involving illegal foreign nationals.
