 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. S. A: SUSPECTS USE SNAKES TO SCARE OFF POLICE. (PHOTOS).

 A daring escape unfolded in Rabie Ridge, where suspects used snakes to scare off police, allowing some to flee. The incident occurred during a crackdown on suspected stolen vehicles, car jamming devices, live ammunition and drugs. Police managed to apprehend two suspects, but others escaped by using snakes to intimidate the EMPD officers.


The Rabie Ridge Police Station, responsible for maintaining law and order in the area, responded promptly to the situation. They have a dedicated team for crime reporting, community policing and emergency assistance.


In a surprising twist, members from the SPCA were called to the scene, and three snakes were removed. The suspects' unorthodox tactic has raised eyebrows, but the police remain committed to ensuring public safety.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
