 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Monarch of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms, His Majesty King Charles III, on the occasion of his 76th birthday.


In a congratulatory message delivered on Thursday during a reception held at the residence of the British Deputy High Commissioner, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the enduring historical bonds between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.


The Governor stated: “Your birthday is not just a celebration of your life but also of your unwavering dedication to public service, environmental advocacy, and your profound commitment to enhancing the well-being of communities across the globe. On behalf of the people and government of Lagos State, I express our sincere appreciation for the deep historical ties between the United Kingdom and Nigeria, which have fostered strong cultural, diplomatic, and economic partnerships. As we look forward to continuing to build on these bonds, we celebrate Your Majesty’s leadership as a source of unity and inspiration to all.”


He lauded King Charles III for his exemplary leadership and vision, which continue to inspire Lagos State and the global community to uphold sustainability, inclusivity, and harmony. The Governor emphasised the King’s efforts in setting a powerful example for future generations.


Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. 'Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin further acknowledged the King’s remarkable contributions to global unity, sustainability, and inclusivity. He prayed for His Majesty's continued good health, happiness, and a peaceful reign marked by greater accomplishments and joy.


The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, members of the Lagos State Executive Council, and distinguished guests from various walks of life.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
