NCPC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY ASSURES LAGOS PILGRIMS OF PERFORMING HOLY PILGRIMAGE THIS YEAR

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has assured intending pilgrims from Lagos of performing the Holy Pilgrimage this year. This assurance was given by the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite during a courtesy visit to the Commission by the Members of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board led by the Chairman, Bishop Johnson Akinpelu.

Bishop Adegbite admonished the intending pilgrims to be patient with the Lagos Board and the Commission, bearing in mind that the interest of Lagos is protected as far as NCPC Pilgrimage Operation is concerned.

He said Lagos would continue to remain fresh in his memory, having stayed there for over three decades, "Lagos is my success story, and I will continue to support the cause of Lagos."

He urged the Board Members to continue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for God's wisdom to effectively pilot the affairs of Nigeria, and that Nigeria would surely get out of the woods in no too distant time.

In response, the Chairman, Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Bishop Johnson Akinpelu said they were grateful for the effective leadership qualities of Bishop Adegbite since his assumption of office as the Executive Secretary of NCPC on 5th February 2024. He prayed that the Lord would imbue him with wisdom to continue to lift the Commission to greater heights.

Bishop Akinpelu stressed the need to continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, which is an injunction from the Holy Bible. He expressed his optimism that peace would be restored in Israel soon and, by extension, the Middle East.

The Chairman disclosed that they were in NCPC to find out the state of things as regards this year's pilgrimage exercise given the mounting pressure from the intending pilgrims.

Other members of the visiting delegation include the Vice Chairman of the Board, Archbishop Prof Rufus Oguntuase, the Board Secretary, Mrs. Florence Gbafe, and other members of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
