No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat.  NDLEA Secures 9,034 Convictions, Arrests 52 Barons in Three Years

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced it secured 9,034 convictions over the past three years. This was revealed by the agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Buba Marwa, during the Island Club Business Luncheon in Lagos on Tuesday.

Marwa also reported that 52,901 drug traffickers, including 52 barons, were arrested during the same period. He emphasized that many of the individuals apprehended were high-profile figures, highlighting the deep-rooted nature of drug trafficking in society.

During this time, the NDLEA seized 8.6 million kilograms of various illicit drugs and destroyed 1,572 hectares of cannabis farms. Marwa described the large number of arrests and prosecutions as a significant achievement, demonstrating the agency's commitment to fighting drug trafficking.

Rotimi Olasode Martins, Chairman of the Island Club, praised Marwa for his dedication and effective leadership in the battle against drug abuse. He noted that the widespread issue of drug abuse had severely impacted all levels of society, threatening youth, destabilizing families, and undermining the nation’s socio-economic structure.
