More than 100,000 children have been displaced by the latest escalation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, UNICEF said on Sunday, warning the numbers are expected to rise as violence spreads.  No Longer Required for Redeployment: Name Change for Married Female Corps Members – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that married female corps members will no longer need to change their names for redeployment.

This update is outlined in a circular signed by Abubakar Mohammed, the Director of Corps Mobilization, which was sent to directors, acting directors, and coordinators in the states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The circular, titled “Review of Criteria for Concessional Deployment/Relocation for Married Female Corps Members,” revealed that the NYSC management has revised the criteria for granting concessional deployment or relocation to married female corps members.

It further clarified that state coordinators are now instructed that changing a maiden name to that of a spouse is no longer a requirement for the approval of such requests. All other criteria remain unchanged.
