  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. THE COORDINATING MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL WELFARE, PROD. MUHAMMAD ALI PATE, HAS LAUNCHED THE NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY STRATEGIC PLAN (2024-2028) TO CREATE SAFER AND HEALTHIER WORKPLACES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. (PHOTO).

 The Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has launched the National Occupational Health and Safety Strategic Plan (2024-2028) to create safer and healthier workplaces across the country. 


A statement by the Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations, Alaba Balogun explained that the plan provides clear guidance for the Ministry and its partners to prevent and manage workplace diseases, injuries, and accidents, improving employee health and productivity. 


Prof Pate highlighted the growing need for this initiative, especially as the government encourages non-oil sectors like mining and agriculture, which present unique safety risks.


To ensure the success of the plan, the Minister represented by Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom, called for collaboration from all Ministries, departments and agencies of government, partners, and organizations to raise N1.34 billion needed over the next five years.
