 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. THE COORDINATING MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL WELFARE, PROD. MUHAMMAD ALI PATE, HAS LAUNCHED THE NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY STRATEGIC PLAN (2024-2028) TO CREATE SAFER AND HEALTHIER WORKPLACES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. (PHOTO).


 The Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has launched the National Occupational Health and Safety Strategic Plan (2024-2028) to create safer and healthier workplaces across the country. 


A statement by the Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations, Alaba Balogun explained that the plan provides clear guidance for the Ministry and its partners to prevent and manage workplace diseases, injuries, and accidents, improving employee health and productivity. 


Prof Pate highlighted the growing need for this initiative, especially as the government encourages non-oil sectors like mining and agriculture, which present unique safety risks.


To ensure the success of the plan, the Minister represented by Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom, called for collaboration from all Ministries, departments and agencies of government, partners, and organizations to raise N1.34 billion needed over the next five years.
