 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 62 Students Graduate with First Class as AAUA Confers Degrees on 6,837


A total of 62 students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, have graduated with first-class honours out of 6,837 students set to receive their first degrees at the university's upcoming convocation ceremony. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbemiga Ige, made the announcement on Monday during a press conference marking the 13th convocation and the university’s 25th anniversary.


Professor Ige revealed that the convocation will celebrate graduates from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions. The breakdown includes 657 postgraduate students, 46 of whom have earned Ph.D. degrees. Among the 6,182 undergraduate graduates, 62 achieved first-class honours, underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.


Additionally, 1,941 students earned second-class honours (upper division), 3,486 received second-class honours (lower division), 684 graduated with third-class honours, and 8 students graduated in the pass category.


Despite financial challenges, Professor Ige highlighted the university’s success in research and development, citing the recent recognition of eight academics in the prestigious 2024 Stanford-Elsevier global scientist ranking.


The convocation ceremony will also feature honorary doctorate awards for Ondo State Governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Doctor of Public Administration), House of Representatives member Mr. Adegboyega Adefarati (Doctor of Political Science), and Mr. Hazmat Subair (Doctor of Business Administration).
