 LASG HOSTS Y2024 WOMEN'S ASSEMBLY TO EMPOWER, CELEBRATE WOMEN Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing and empowering women, describing them as the pillars of communities, contributing in numerous ways as mothers, entrepreneurs, educators and leaders.  Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this in his keynote address at the 2024 Women's Assembly for Local Government and Local Council Development Areas organised by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) at the De Blue Roof, LTV 8 complex, Agindigbi Ikeja.  The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Governor, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the Assembly as a critical platform for celebrating women’s contributions and tackling challenges affecting their well-being. Dwayne Johnson dances with mom Ata at 'Moana 2' world premiere


Dwayne Johnson shared a sweet moment with his mother Ata Johnson at the world premiere of "Moana 2" in Hawaii on Thursday.

A video shared to Instagram by Disney shows the "Black Adam" actor standing with his family -- including wife Lauren Hashian and daughters Jasmine and Tiana -- while watching his mom Ata Johnson gracefully performing a traditional Polynesian dance.

As she motions for him to join her, Johnson takes off his suit jacket, kisses his daughters on their heads and gets right into the groove without missing a beat.

The two dance for a bit before the song ends ... and Dwayne walks over to pull his mother into a hug and lightly kisses her on the cheek.

Dwayne and his mom definitely stole the show at the action-packed premiere ... attended by WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes, Dwayne's costar Auliʻi Cravalho, and Mickey Mouse himself.

The mother-son duo then thank the singers and musicians providing the tunes for their dance and share a loving embrace as the video ends.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
