 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  France Awaits New Cabinet as PM Bayrou Delays Announcement to Honor Mayotte Victims


France remains on edge as Prime Minister François Bayrou prepares to unveil his new cabinet, initially promised “before Christmas.” 


However, the announcement has been postponed until Monday evening to observe a national day of mourning for the victims of the devastating cyclone in Mayotte, France's overseas territory.


President Emmanuel Macron, who recently visited cyclone-hit Mayotte and East Africa, emphasized the significance of honoring the victims.


 Macron spoke with Bayrou twice on Sunday to finalize preparations for the cabinet announcement.


As the clock ticks closer to the deadline, all eyes are on the Prime Minister’s anticipated announcement and the political shifts it will bring.
