  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Reps Urge CDS to Release Miyetti Allah President, Bodejo, from Unlawful Detention


The House of Representatives has called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Olufemi Oloyede, to immediately release Bello Badejo, President of Miyetti Allah, from unlawful detention.


Additionally, the House summoned Musa, Oloyede, and the Commanding Officer of the 177 Battalion to appear before the House Committees on Army, Human Rights, and Justice on December 20, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. to explain why officers under their command violated constitutional provisions.


This resolution followed a motion moved by Hon. Mansur Soro at plenary on Tuesday. Soro explained that Badejo was arrested on December 9, 2024, by officers of the 177 Battalion in Maliya town, Nasarawa State, without prior invitation or court order, allegedly due to a dispute involving a retired military general and some community members.


Soro raised concerns over the unlawful detention of Badejo, who has not been arraigned before a court, which violates his fundamental rights under Sections 34, 35, and 36 of Nigeria's Constitution. The House condemned the actions of the officers and called for an apology to Badejo for the infringement on his rights.
