 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the completion of a raid at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, during which around 240 terror suspects were apprehended. According to the IDF, the operation aimed at Hamas members who were utilizing the hospital and its vicinity as a base for terrorist operations. Various weapons were reportedly confiscated, including firearms, explosives, and other military gear. An IDF spokesperson stated, “The operation effectively neutralized a major threat and disrupted Hamas's infrastructure in the area.” This raid comes amid heightened military activity in northern Gaza, which includes ongoing airstrikes and ground operations designed to dismantle Hamas strongholds. Earlier, the IDF reported intercepting two long-range rockets that were fired from Gaza towards the Jerusalem area.   SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
