 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  Bandits Attack Hospital, Kidnap Staff, Kill ABU Best Graduating Medical Doctor


Bandits have attacked the General Hospital in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, killed a medical doctor and kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of hospital staff.


The attack occurred around 7:00 pm Tuesday, during which Dr Murtala Sale Dandashire was shot.

According to a resident of the area, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the bandits invaded the hospital premises in a coordinated attack, creating panic among staff and patients and shooting sporadically.

The resident confirmed that the injured doctor, who was shot in the leg, is currently alive and receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

Dr  Dandashire, a Medical graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, garnered 13 awards, including the overall best graduating student in the Class of 2019, was shot at the General Hospital while attending to patients who came to seek medical intervention.


Dr Dandashire graduated from ABU Zaria as the best student in Haematology, overall best in Community medicine,  best in biochemistry, best in Physiology, best in Project Community medicine, best in Anatomy and Surgery, best in Anatomy, overall best in Surgery, best in chemical pathology, Best in Pathology, best in Histopathology, NMA Kaduna award for overall best graduating MBBS student and overall best-graduating Student.

As of this report, the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, Sadiq Abubakar, confirmed the incident, assuring that more details would be provided as the command is investigating the matter.


Meanwhile, the incident at the medical facility has sparked concerns over the escalating insecurity in parts of Katsina State, particularly in Kankara, which has witnessed several attacks in recent times.
