 EFCC Arraigns Man  for  Alleged ₦55m Fraud in Lagos The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 arraigned one Gabriel Celestine Nwawuzor, before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos for ₦55m fraud. Nwawuzor was arraigned alongside Moonlink Pharmaceuticals Limited, on a 3-count charge bordering on fraud and money laundering to the tune of N55,000,000 (Fifty Five Million Naira) One of the counts reads: "That you Gabriel Celestine Nwawuzor and Moonlink Pharmaceuticals Limited sometime in April, 2021, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court procured the account number 2170235882 domiciled in Zenith Bank to retain the sum of N55, 000, 000.00 ( Fifty Five Million Naira) which sum you knew forms part of the proceeds of your unlawful act and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Sections 21(a), 18(2)(d) of the of Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibitio...

 Delta Police Parade Suspected Killers, Cultists, Robbers, and Others


The Delta State Police Command has paraded 16 suspects involved in various crimes, including the murder of an Uber driver, Facebook fraud, armed robbery, and child trafficking. The suspects were presented at the Ekpan Police Station on Thursday by SP Bright Edafe, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda.


SP Edafe stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court once completed.


Key Cases Presented


Uber Driver’s Murder

On December 15, 2024, two suspects, Junior Emmanuel (33) and Julius Samuel (28), allegedly strangled an Uber driver after hiring him. They later abandoned a female victim they had taken along in a bush. The suspects were apprehended on January 2, 2025, when they attempted to sell a stolen vehicle.

Armed Robbery Syndicate

Two suspects, Osio Emmanuel (28) and Sabiu Adamu (26), were arrested in Warri for robbing passengers using a tricycle. Police recovered two locally made guns, 13 live cartridges, nine mobile phones, and their operational tricycle.


Facebook Fraud and Extortion

A woman, Faith Oghenejabor, posed as “Smart Amanda” on Facebook, faked her kidnapping, and extorted ₦1.95 million from a victim. She was arrested after an investigation revealed her deceit.

Cultist Arrested with Arms

Following credible intelligence, a suspected cultist, Prosper Akeni (32), was apprehended with multiple firearms, including pistols and locally made guns. He admitted to being the leader of the Eiye confraternity and claimed the weapons belonged to his group.


Child Defilement

A barber, Volte Bale (26), was arrested for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old boy in his shop. Preliminary investigations revealed he had been abusing the boy for two years.

Child Trafficking

A woman, Blessing Kojo Oghenefejiri (25), was arrested for deceiving her partner and sister, claiming her six-week-old baby had died. Further investigation uncovered that she had given the baby to a couple under false pretenses.


Other Arrests

Additional arrests included cultists and individuals found with illegal firearms in Oghara and Sapele towns.

SP Edafe urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining security in the state.
