 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. Former President Muhammadu Buhari has lamented the current hardship in Nigeria.


Buhari disclosed that he now relies on rent from one of his two houses to feed himself.


Addressing the All Progressives Congress, APC, Caucus at the Katsina State Government House, the former president insisted that he never enriched himself in a corrupt way while in office for eight years.


He noted that he has only three houses in Daura, Katsina State, and Kaduna State, Buhari, insisting that nobody could blackmail him for illicit enrichment while in office.


The former president tasked leaders on transparency and accountability as guiding principles while in office.


Buhari pointed out that most Nigerians are unaware of the administrative challenges involved in governing the country but simply blame their leaders during and after their tenures.
