 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. FEMALE-LED SYNDICATE OF THIEVES BUSTED, 5-SUSPECTS ARRESTED


A female-led syndicate of thieves has been dismantled by the Kano State Police Command, with the arrest of five suspects. The principal suspect, Shamsiyya Adamu, a 19-year-old resident of Brigade Quarters Kano, was arrested on December 21, 2024, following reports of stolen mobile phones in Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano.


2. Public Outcry and Reports of Stolen Mobile Phones


In the year 2024, the Kano State Police Command received numerous reports from residents of Kano Metropolis about a young lady who steals mobile phones from residential houses. The reports indicated that the suspect was using a tricyclist and a cyber criminal to aid in her operations. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba raised a special intervention squad, and the principal suspect was arrested on December 21, 2024.


3. The Syndicate's Modus Operandi:


The syndicate, led by Shamsiyya, specialized in stealing mobile phones from residential houses, using a tricyclist and a cyber criminal to aid in their operations. The suspects would deceive housewives, steal their mobile phones, and swindle money from their victims' bank accounts.


4. Suspects Arrested:


i. Shamsiyya Adamu: The 19-year-old principal suspect and leader of the syndicate.

ii. Idris Yusuf: A 23-year-old tricycle rider who aided in transporting the principal suspect to commit crimes.

iii. Al'asan Dahiru: A 24-year-old suspect who specialized in disposing stolen items for the principal suspect.

iv.  Abdulmajid Haruna: A 27-year-old suspect who specialized in buying stolen properties. Six mobile phones were recovered from him.

v.  Salim Auwalu: A 21-year-old suspect who specialized in swindling money from victims' bank accounts.


5. Recovery of Stolen Mobile Phones:


Six mobile phones have been recovered so far, and efforts are ongoing to recover more stolen phones. Thirty complainants, including 29 females and 1 male, have lodged complaints against Shamsiyya, who confessed to stealing their mobile phones on various occasions in 2024.
