 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Four feared dead, others injured as driver rams into soldiers in Lagos


Four soldiers attached to the Myoung Barracks in the Morocco area of Shomolu in Lagos are feared dead, while others sustained injuries after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them.

It was gathered that the soldiers were doing their morning marching parade when the incident happened Friday morning.

According to reports, the Toyota vehicle had three young men as the occupants.


Eyewitnesses described the scene as harrowing, with injured soldiers scattered across the road.

“There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back,” said one of the soldiers who survived the accident.

According to sources, the vehicle involved was carrying three young men believed to be Yahoo Boys (internet fraudsters). The driver lost control and rammed into the unit near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp.


One of the occupants fled the scene immediately, while the other two were caught and beaten to a pulp by an angry mob. Their vehicle was also vandalized in the aftermath of the crash.

The accident has caused widespread concern among soldiers and their families, with many desperately trying to confirm the status of their loved ones.
