  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has felicitated the billionaire industrialist and Chairman of the Eleganza Group, Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya, on his 85th birthday celebration. 


He said the renowned business magnate and philanthropist, who will be 85 tomorrow, Sunday, is worth celebrating for his life of consistent commitment and contribution to the economy and livelihood of many Nigerians, particularly in Lagos State, where many of his companies are located. 


 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said Chief Okoya, the Aare of Lagos, has contributed to the growth of Nigeria’s economy, provided jobs for many Nigerians through his investments and has spread to other African market.


 

He said: “On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I join family, friends and business associates to celebrate the Chairman of the Eleganza Group and the RAO Property Investment Company, Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya, on his 85th birthday celebration. He is one of Nigeria’s business magnates and philanthropists that are impacting lives positively. 


 

“The Aare of Lagos is a generous man who has given hope through philanthropic gestures to the less privileged in the society. He has given scholarships to many people, particularly the young people, to further their education and also provided funds to many people to start small businesses.


"I wish Chief Okoya the best on his 85th birthday. I pray that God will grant him a longer life, strength, and sound health to continue to continuously enjoy the dividends of his long years of investment.”
