 Multiple Levies : Drivers' President Warns Illegal Revenue Collectors After Appointment As PNAI Co-ordinator  By Juliana Nwachukwu The National President, Heavy Duty Truck Drivers' Association, comrade Uche Rogers Nebuwa, has warned that the association will not tolerate imposition of multiple levies by illegal revenue collectors on the highways nationwide this year. Sounding the note of warning shortly after his appointment as Mobile Volunteered Membership Emblems co-ordinator and taskforce member of Policing Nigeria Awareness Initiative, (PNAI), he reiterated the resolve of the drivers and PNAI to work in partnership to sack all illegal revenue collectors on the highways. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has felicitated the billionaire industrialist and Chairman of the Eleganza Group, Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya, on his 85th birthday celebration. 


He said the renowned business magnate and philanthropist, who will be 85 tomorrow, Sunday, is worth celebrating for his life of consistent commitment and contribution to the economy and livelihood of many Nigerians, particularly in Lagos State, where many of his companies are located. 


 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, said Chief Okoya, the Aare of Lagos, has contributed to the growth of Nigeria’s economy, provided jobs for many Nigerians through his investments and has spread to other African market.


 

He said: “On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I join family, friends and business associates to celebrate the Chairman of the Eleganza Group and the RAO Property Investment Company, Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya, on his 85th birthday celebration. He is one of Nigeria’s business magnates and philanthropists that are impacting lives positively. 


 

“The Aare of Lagos is a generous man who has given hope through philanthropic gestures to the less privileged in the society. He has given scholarships to many people, particularly the young people, to further their education and also provided funds to many people to start small businesses.


"I wish Chief Okoya the best on his 85th birthday. I pray that God will grant him a longer life, strength, and sound health to continue to continuously enjoy the dividends of his long years of investment.”
