 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  I am deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives. 


Her death is a tremendous loss not only to her home state of Ogun but also to her constituents in Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North and the entire nation.


On behalf of my family, the Lagos State government, and the people of Lagos, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues, especially those in her constituency.


I also express my sympathy to Ogun State’s Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and all members of the National Assembly during this difficult time. 


Hon. Onanuga’s death comes when her community and the nation need her the most. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched positively.


I pray for her soul and ask that God grants her loved ones the strength to endure this immense loss.
