 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Niger NUT Appoints Jaafar Ahmed as Chairman of BOT for Teachers’ Security Scheme


The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has confirmed the appointment of Mallam Jaafar Ahmed as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) for the Teachers’ Social Security Scheme, known as End-Well.


According to a statement by the Union’s Senior Assistant Secretary General, Comrade Musa Kuta Umaru, the appointment is for an initial term of three years, effective from January this year.


While congratulating Ahmed on his new role, Umaru urged him to leverage his extensive experience to propel the Teachers’ End-Well Scheme to new heights.


“We encourage the appointee to view this role as a testament to his capacity and competence to build on the scheme's achievements and strengthen the bond of trust between the Union and its members,” Umaru said.


The Union further assured Ahmed of the full support of the state wing Executive in carrying out his duties.


In his response, Ahmed expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to uphold the trust placed in him. He vowed to execute his responsibilities with dedication and in strict adherence to the rules and regulations governing the Teachers’ End-Well Scheme.
