 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Onitsha South Distributes Free Fertilizer To  Constituents

In line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's farm to feed agenda in the state, the Onitsha South Local Government has distributed free liquid fertilizer to the 17 Wards of the local government at the council Secretariat.


The Mayor of the council, Chief Emeka Orji, while distributing the items on Jan. 24, said that the commodity was provided to the constituents at no cost by the State Governor, Prof. Soludo to assist the council in growing more food during this year's farming season because he knows that most residence are farming at the rural areas. 


On her part, the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Hon.  Uju Egbuji, urged the prospective Constituents to make good use of the governor's gesture by utilizing the fertilizer appropriately as she taught the Honourable Councillors of the  wards, which they will educate the beneficiaries on how to use the fertilizer. 


Reacting, the Speaker, Onitsha South Local Government, Rt. Hon. Regina Udeogalanya said that the micro-distribution would be done at all 17 Wards and advised the prospective beneficiaries to display every sense of responsibility during the distribution. 


The Councilor representing Odoakpu ward 4, Hon Tochukwu Ugwu, who is also the Chairman Committee on Agriculture said that so far, so good, every honorable member (Councilor) has received their quota to be distributed, and he believes that his colleagues will ensure that the right thing is being done.


One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Anthonia Okeke commended Governor Soludo for the kind gesture, expresses her readiness for this years farming season, praying that the free fertilizer would be provided to them at least annually for their farming.
