 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Anambra State Wins Big: Attorney General Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje Secures Supreme Court Victories

Anambra State's Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Chika Ifemeje, and C.C. Madukaife (Esq), have achieved a remarkable milestone by securing victories in two criminal cases at the Supreme Court in Abuja. The cases, Ikenna Obi versus Anambra State and Osadebe versus Anambra State, concluded with the court ruling in favor of the state after thorough deliberations.


Reacting to the victories, Director of Public Prosecutions, Nneka Umeozulu (Esq), praised the Attorney General's consistent success in both appeal and high courts, highlighting her remarkable expertise. She noted that since taking office, the Attorney General has efficiently managed case files, provided timely legal opinions, and eliminated backlogs, resulting in satisfied litigants who commend her determination .


The Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Ndirika Onyekwelu (Esq), while commending the Attorney General, described her as friendly, intelligent, and accommodating. She emphasised that the Attorney General's efforts led to the renovation of the Ministry of Justice in various zones, including Nnewi, Otuocha, and Aguata, which now boast air-conditioned facilities and new furniture, all made possible under Governor Soludo's administration.


Mrs Onyekwelu also highlighted the Attorney General's remarkable work ethic, which has earned her numerous awards. The latest recognition was the ADA Anambra Award, presented to her by women in appreciation of her outstanding performance since taking office.


Special Adviser to the Attorney General on Legal Matters, Uchey Martins-Mmaju (Esq), highlighted the Attorney General's significant reforms in the justice sector. These reforms included the establishment of virtual hearing facilities in 20 high courts and four correctional centers, facilitating the passage of the State Multi-door Courtrooms bill, and creating Specialized Courts to handle cases involving children and sexual offenders.


The SA further explained that the Attorney General has amended the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (2022) and the Magistrate Court Law (2022). The office has also adopted the NAPTIP 2023 work plan to combat human trafficking. These efforts demonstrate the Attorney General's commitment to transforming the justice system in Anambra State.
