No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

AVIATION WORKERS PROTEST PLANNED CONCESSION OF PORT HARCOURT AIRPORT. (PHOTO).

Aviation workers at the Port Harcourt International Airport staged a solidarity march on Wednesday to express their opposition to the Federal Government's alleged plan to concession the airport without their involvement. The workers, under the umbrella of the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), carried placards urging the government to include them in the concession process.

Razaq Animashaun, Chairman of ATSSSAN, emphasized that the workers are not against concessions but are opposed to any process that lacks transparency and excludes key stakeholders. "If they want to concession the airport, the union should be involved so that we can know where our staff belongs to because we don't want job losses," Animashaun said.¹

Akagha Emmanuel, ANAP Chairman at the airport, questioned the government's decision to proceed with the concession plans despite a pending court case. "They should carry the union along. We have a case in court already... We want them to carry the union along, carry pensioners along, carry the staff along," Emmanuel said.

The Federal Government had announced plans to concession five Nigerian airports, including the Port Harcourt International Airport, last October. However, the workers' unions are seeking greater transparency and involvement in the concession process to protect their interests and prevent job losses
