Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

LASG RESOLVES LAND ISSUES WITH FAMILIES, SEEKS PEACE FOR RESIDENTS OF SHASHA

The Lagos State Government has made a significant breakthrough in resolving a long-standing land dispute by giving over 8,827.570 square meters of land to relevant families at Afoka, Shasha in Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State. The resolution is a major milestone in the state's efforts to address lingering land disputes.

The Commissioner for Housing, Hon Maruf Akinderu-Fatai, stated that the return of the disputed land to the families, as directed by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, demonstrates the state government's commitment to finding amicable solutions to disputes, promoting peace and development and understanding within our communities.

The directive of Mr. Governor is sequel to a lawsuit which was later referred to the Lagos multi-door courthouse for amicable settlement. The mediation process ended with an agreement and a consent judgement was thereafter delivered by Hon Justice O.A Ogala of the High Court of Lagos State on the 25th of June, 2024. The Commissioner noted that the provision of affordable housing by the State Government or investors depends on the availability of land.

Akinderu-Fatai, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, also stated that the full and final settlement of the claims in the suit and the handing over of preliminary documents to parties, detailing the portion that belongs to the Lagos State government and the two families, will enable access to the utilisation of the entire 17,655.145 square meters for development.

He further encouraged the families and community leaders to see the handover of the land as a gesture of the State Government to promote peace within the entire Shasha community and environs.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Housing ESV Ayodeji Amodu, Oba Babatunde Ogunronbi, the Oba of Shasha kingdom and representatives of all the families who are parties to the dispute.

Oba Ogunrombi appreciated the Lagos State Government for putting a final but positive closure to the issue.

The parcel of land was meant to be Phase II of the Millenium Housing Estate Shasha, commissioned during the time of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Lagos State Government has been proactive in addressing land-related issues, establishing a process for acquiring land that involves following due process and ensuring fair compensation for all stakeholders.
