 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 The world’s most expensive cow, Viatina-19, an Indian Nellore breed, has made history by selling for Rs 40 crore at an auction in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

 Weighing 1,101 kilograms—nearly twice the average weight for her breed—Viatina-19 was purchased for $4.8 million, setting a new record for the priciest cow ever sold.


Viatina-19 is famous for her exceptional genetics and impressive physical traits. She earned the title of “Miss South America” at the “Champions of the World” competition, renowned for her outstanding muscle structure and rare genetic lineage. These qualities have made her highly sought after, with her embryos now being exported globally to enhance breeding programs.


The Nellore breed, also known as the Ongole breed in India, is prized for its resilience and adaptability. Originating from the Ongole region in Andhra Pradesh, India, these cows can withstand extreme temperatures, making them valuable in tropical and subtropical areas. Their strong immunity and ability to survive in harsh conditions with minimal care contribute to their growing demand in the global cattle industry.


With her striking white fur, prominent hump, and loose skin, Viatina-19 is not only visually impressive but well-adapted to handle heat. Her sale highlights the increasing demand for the Nellore breed, particularly in regions where heat tolerance and disease resistance are critical. The breed has been integral to Brazil’s cattle industry since the 1800s, improving livestock productivity and genetic quality.
