 Morocco places provinces on highest alert as wildfire spreads Morocco has placed nine provinces at the highest wildfire alert level as blazes continued to intensify over the past week, with satellite data showing that more than 4,100 hectares (10,131 acres) have burned since the start of the year. Data from the European Commission-backed Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS) showed that about 855 hectares (2,112 acres) burned over the past week, marking an increase from the previous week, Anadolu Agency reported. The system also detected 1,006 thermal anomalies across Morocco between Jan. 1 and Aug. 2, including 59 over the past week. Thermal anomalies are satellite-detected hotspots and do not necessarily represent separate wildfires, as the same fire may be detected more than once. On Friday, Morocco’s National Agency for Water and Forests issued red-level wildfire warnings for nine provinces in the country’s north and east, indicating an extreme risk of forest fires. Offici...

 Peter Obi will soon join APC - Bwala


Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has declared  the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi will soon be defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) 


According to Bwala, the APC will empty the opposition Labour party of all its major members.


Bwala claimed that Valentine Ozigbo's coming to the APC is a major indication that Obi will also join the party.


The presidential aide said this on TVC Breakfast show on Wednesday, March 12.


He said: "Do you know we are emptying the Labour Party? Not because we are asking them to coming. They are coming. Valentine Ozigbo has joined us, Balami has joined us, even Peter Obi will join us. 


"Peter Obi will not run in Labour Party. They are all leaving Labour Party, it's a fact. For Valentine Ozigbo to come to our party, Valentine Ozigbo is actually the custodian of Peter Obi. Then I know for a fact that Peter Obi will join us. Do you know why I say that? . 


"You see after one or two weeks of this mini-dramatic activity, because the way they scheme these things is that every week, you will hear a breaking news 'a gladiator has joined SDP', so that they will dominate the media space with conversations, and  I hope that the media will be smart enough to know that. 


"By the time the two weeks is over and they are able to enjoy this momentary coverage, when they sit down they'll start fighting over who will be president or vice president. 


"The reason El-Rufai did not go to PDP is because the structure there he can't go and dictate things for them, but he told the world that the chairman of SDP is his friend, so they went there because they want to go and dictate."
