 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. SOUTH SUDAN FOOTBALL TEAM ENDURES ORDEAL AT LIBYAN AIRPORT.(PHOTO).

The South Sudan national football team, Bright Star, experienced a harrowing ordeal at Benina International Airport in Benghazi, Libya, after being stranded for three hours due to a lack of coordination from the Sudan Football Association (SFA).


According to reports, the team arrived at the airport at 10:12 a.m. after departing from Cairo, Egypt, but were not greeted by an SFA representative, who was supposed to facilitate their entry into the country. As a result, Libyan migration authorities seized the team's passports, citing the lack of coordination.


The team, including players and technical staff, were left stranded, frustrated, and confused for three tense hours. It was only after this prolonged period that the authorities permitted the team to leave the airport, although their passports were not returned as a guarantee.


The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has strongly condemned the experience, emphasizing the need for coordination between football associations. The incident has left some players sick, tired, and traumatized, with the SSFA describing the treatment of their team as "unacceptable" and "disrespectful."


The SSFA has lodged a complaint with FIFA and CAF, urging them to take action to prevent such negligence from happening again. The team is set to face Sudan in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers matchday six, and the SSFA is seeking assurances that the necessary arrangements will be made to prevent any further incidents.
