 ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED PRODUCERS OF ADULTERATED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, RECOVERS COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad/VCRU have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the State. The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke 42 years old and Okeke Chukwuemeka 38 years old were arrested in the early hours of today 15th June 2026,  following credible intelligence received by the Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a syndicate specializing in the adulteration and counterfeiting of various alcoholic beverages. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and subsequently led operatives to their mini-factory.  Tragedy Strikes Abia Community as Banished Commercial Motorcyclist Meets Untimely Death


A devastating incident has shaken the Obuoro community in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, following the murder of a commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Okezie Onyema Onyendu. The victim, who was allegedly banished by his community over a land dispute, succumbed to injuries sustained from a brutal attack on March 7, 2025.


According to reports, Onyendu was assaulted at Amawom village, where his attackers severed one of his ears and stole his motorcycle, phone, and earnings. His widow, Mrs. Ogechi Okezie, claims that her husband's murder was a result of a conspiracy within their community.


Mrs. Okezie revealed that her husband was banished in February 2024 for refusing to relinquish his land to a distant relative. Despite taking the matter to court, with a hearing scheduled for March 12, Onyendu's life was brutally cut short.


The Abia State Police Command has confirmed that the incident was reported to the Police Area Command in Umuahia, and investigations are ongoing. The community is demanding justice for the late Okezie Onyema Onyendu, calling for a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
