 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Tragedy Strikes Abia Community as Banished Commercial Motorcyclist Meets Untimely Death


A devastating incident has shaken the Obuoro community in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, following the murder of a commercial motorcyclist, Mr. Okezie Onyema Onyendu. The victim, who was allegedly banished by his community over a land dispute, succumbed to injuries sustained from a brutal attack on March 7, 2025.


According to reports, Onyendu was assaulted at Amawom village, where his attackers severed one of his ears and stole his motorcycle, phone, and earnings. His widow, Mrs. Ogechi Okezie, claims that her husband's murder was a result of a conspiracy within their community.


Mrs. Okezie revealed that her husband was banished in February 2024 for refusing to relinquish his land to a distant relative. Despite taking the matter to court, with a hearing scheduled for March 12, Onyendu's life was brutally cut short.


The Abia State Police Command has confirmed that the incident was reported to the Police Area Command in Umuahia, and investigations are ongoing. The community is demanding justice for the late Okezie Onyema Onyendu, calling for a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.
