Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali.  ATM Bombing Syndicate That Terrorized Limpopo Finally Arrested

Limpopo police have arrested nine suspects believed to be behind a series of ATM bombings that rocked the province between 2023 and 2025. The breakthrough came after an intelligence-driven operation involving the Provincial Tracking Team, Investigations Unit, Capricorn Flying Squad, and a private security company.

The syndicate’s reign of terror came to an end after their latest attacks on two ATMs, one in Morudji Village, Bolobedu, and another in Giyani. While fleeing from the second attack, they engaged in a shootout with police, abandoning a silver sedan before escaping on foot.

Acting on intelligence, officers tracked the suspects as they attempted to flee to Gauteng. They intercepted two vehicles on the R81 highway near Mall of the North, arresting all nine occupants. A search of the vehicles led to the recovery of explosives, two illegal firearms with 33 rounds of ammunition, and dye-stained cash.

The suspects, aged 28 to 43, include four South African nationals and five undocumented foreign nationals. They face multiple charges, including possession of illegal firearms, explosives, dye-stained money, and contravening the Immigration Act.

They are set to appear in various Limpopo Magistrate’s Courts soon.
