 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  105 Companies Granted Tax Waivers in Q4 2024 — NIPC


The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has announced that 105 companies were granted corporate income tax waivers under the Pioneer Status Incentive in the fourth quarter of 2024.


According to the NIPC’s Q4 report, the beneficiaries, including Dangote Fertilisers, Mikano International, Dufil Prima Foods, and Edo Refinery, collectively invested over N2.4 trillion.


The pioneer incentive offers qualifying firms a three-year tax holiday, extendable by up to two years, to stimulate industrial growth.


As of December 31, 2024, NIPC received 19 new applications, approved extensions for eight companies, and granted 22 fresh approvals.


While the report did not disclose the total value of the waivers, authorities have flagged concerns over the rising cost of tax incentives, which reportedly amount to about N6 trillion annually.
