 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  632 Suspects Arrested in Limpopo During Operation Shanela (Kukula)


Police in Limpopo arrested 632 suspects during Operation Shanela (Kukula), held from 14 to 20 April 2025. The operation aimed to keep communities safe during the Easter holidays.


Different law enforcement units, including SAPS, SANDF, Home Affairs, and traffic officers, took part.


During the operation: 34 illegal liquor outlets were closed, 23 roadblocks were held, 570 premises and 265 farms were searched, 213 second-hand shops were inspected and 2 firearms were recovered.


Arrests included:


188 illegal immigrants, 37 for drunk driving, 4 for illegal firearms, 2 for murder, 4 for rape, 30 for illegal liquor sales, 3 for drug dealing and 15 for dangerous weapons

72 for assault GBH.


The suspects are already appearing in courts across the province.
