Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute. Over time, they stepped away from Hollywood and fully transitioned into fashion, officially launching The Row in 2005.  Abia Governor Urges NYSC Corps Members to Drive Community Development

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state to excel in their service year and contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities. The governor made the charge during the swearing-in ceremony of the corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umunna, Bende Local Government Area, on Friday.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Nwaobilor Ananaba, Otti underscored the vital role of the NYSC in nation-building and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the scheme. “We are dedicated to enhancing the NYSC’s capacity to fulfill its mandate,” he said, while also extending prayers for the success of the new NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu.

In her address, NYSC Abia State Coordinator, Mrs. Gladys Adama, explained that the orientation course is designed to instill discipline and leadership qualities in the corps members. She noted that the corps members would be deployed across the state’s 17 local government areas, particularly in rural communities where their services are most needed, aligning with the state’s strategic development agenda under Governor Otti.

Adama expressed gratitude for the governor’s support, including ongoing rehabilitation work at the camp. However, she appealed for the relocation of the NYSC state secretariat to a more suitable office space and the provision of monthly stipends for corps members serving in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by Justice Chido Wakama, marking the formal induction of the corps members into their service year in Abia State.
