 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Abia State Governor Orders Manhunt for Killers of Chinese Miners and Police Officer


In a swift response to a deadly ambush, Governor Alex Otti has directed security agents to track down and apprehend the unidentified gunmen responsible for the murder of two Chinese miners and a police officer at a mining site in Uturu, Abia State. The governor's directive comes in the wake of the brutal attack, which was confirmed by the Abia State Police Command on Saturday.


In a statement released on Sunday by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Otti expressed his outrage at the unprovoked assault on innocent individuals. He pledged the state government's unwavering support to security agencies in their efforts to ensure that the perpetrators face justice.


Governor Otti emphasized that his administration has prioritized creating a conducive environment for businesses and economic activities while also safeguarding lives and property through enhanced support for security agencies. He condemned the attack as bearing the hallmarks of terrorism and called on all people of goodwill to denounce the incident.


To prevent future incursions by criminals from neighboring states, Otti vowed to strengthen security cooperation with Abia’s bordering states, aiming to establish a robust security framework. The governor extended his condolences to the Nigerian Police Force, the Chinese Embassy, and the families of the victims of the Uturu attack, assuring them of his commitment to justice.
