 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. INDIAN TO TURN THEIR CAR HORNS TO SOUND LIKE INDIAN MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. (PHOTO)

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday that he is planning a new law where vehicle horns will sound like Indian musical instruments. 

Speaking at the 78th Foundation Year Celebration of Navbharat Times, he mentioned that horns should be pleasant to hear and suggested sounds like flute, tabla, violin, and harmonium.


Gadkari also spoke about the growing problem of air pollution, saying the transport sector is responsible for 40% of it. He added that the Modi government is encouraging the use of green and bio-fuels like methanol and ethanol to make transportation more environment-friendly.


Highlighting the progress of India’s automobile sector, Gadkari said the industry has grown from ₹14 lakh crore in 2014 to ₹22 lakh crore now. He proudly announced that India has now become the third-largest automobile market in the world, ahead of Japan and just behind the US and China.


He also shared his views on the challenges of running a newspaper. Gadkari said that it is not easy for newspaper owners, as they depend heavily on advertisements to cover operational costs.
