 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. INDIAN TO TURN THEIR CAR HORNS TO SOUND LIKE INDIAN MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. (PHOTO)

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Monday that he is planning a new law where vehicle horns will sound like Indian musical instruments. 

Speaking at the 78th Foundation Year Celebration of Navbharat Times, he mentioned that horns should be pleasant to hear and suggested sounds like flute, tabla, violin, and harmonium.


Gadkari also spoke about the growing problem of air pollution, saying the transport sector is responsible for 40% of it. He added that the Modi government is encouraging the use of green and bio-fuels like methanol and ethanol to make transportation more environment-friendly.


Highlighting the progress of India’s automobile sector, Gadkari said the industry has grown from ₹14 lakh crore in 2014 to ₹22 lakh crore now. He proudly announced that India has now become the third-largest automobile market in the world, ahead of Japan and just behind the US and China.


He also shared his views on the challenges of running a newspaper. Gadkari said that it is not easy for newspaper owners, as they depend heavily on advertisements to cover operational costs.
