MIRACLE IN UMUAHIA: CHURCH ROOF COLLAPSE DURING STORM LEAVES NO FATALITIES. (PHOTO).

A devastating storm in Umuahia, Abia State, caused the roof of the Methodist Church Nigeria, All Saints Cathedral, to collapse, but miraculously, no lives were lost. The incident occurred during a powerful windstorm that preceded an evening downpour, leaving many in shock.

The collapse happened while youths of the church were holding a meeting inside the cathedral. Despite the terrifying incident, all attendees managed to escape unharmed, except for one person who sustained minor injuries.

The storm's fierce winds also uprooted economic trees, brought down electric poles, and damaged the roofs of several residential buildings in the area. The Bishop of Umuahia East Diocese, Rt. Rev. Best Okike, lamented the extent of the damage, noting that the storm struck unexpectedly.

"The tornado had destroyed everything," Bishop Okike said. "The speed of the wind is terrible, and people were inside here, holding a meeting; they managed to struggle out."

Very Rev. Bright Madu, the Cathedral Administrator, who was present at the youth meeting, described the terrifying moment the roof collapsed. "As the meeting was ongoing, suddenly, the ceiling started falling off, so we became afraid. And before you know it, that heavy wind, the roof collapsed immediately."

The community is counting its losses, and residents are appealing for urgent intervention to restore normalcy. Church leaders and members are expressing gratitude for the miraculous escape of the youths. Efforts are expected to commence for rebuilding the cathedral and restoring affected structures.
