 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  OR Tambo Airport Police Officer Arrested for Murder


A 33-year-old police officer stationed at OR Tambo International Airport has been arrested for murder following a fatal shooting at a tavern in Bakenburg, Limpopo.


The suspect, Jan Sekhaolelo, allegedly shot 24-year-old Katlego Thubakgale during the early hours of Monday, 21 April 2025, after a confrontation between the two drivers. The incident occurred around 02:00 outside the tavern.


Police were alerted and responded to the scene, only to learn that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, they found Thubakgale had been pronounced dead.


It is reported that the suspect, although off duty at the time, transported the victim to the hospital himself. Thubakgale succumbed to a gunshot wound to the right cheek.


The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation. Sekhaolelo's official firearm has been confiscated, and the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).


The suspect has been detained at Tinmyn Police Station and appeared before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court
