 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state.  Women Affairs Commissioner Obinabo Urges Mothers Serious Involvement In Children's Upbringing

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs.Ify Obinabo has encouraged mothers in the state to spend quality time with their children to enhance their proper upbringing.


Mrs.Obinabo made the call at the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary organized by the Catholic Women Organization of St.Patrick's Cathedral Parish, Awka.


According to the commissioner who spoke on the theme of the feast and 2025 Mothering Sunday,"A Hopeful Woman Walks And Works By Faith,' women should exercise their motherly role by interrogating the source of wealth of their children and monitoring their actions.


To achieve that in a difficult economic situation in the country,Mrs.Obinabo urged them to exercise hope and faith in God.


She further used the forum to appreciate Governor Soludo's giant strides at three years in office and the wife's supportive role in bringing out the best in her husband as the neck that turns the head.


In a speech after unveiling the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the first lady of Nnewi South LGA, Lady Ifeoma Ezeogidi challenged mothers to always be there for their children to inculcate proper manners in them.


Lady Ifeoma encouraged them to emulate the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary such as patience and humility in carrying out their disposition as mothers.


The first lady used the forum to acknowledge the Healthy Living Initiative of Dr.Nonye Soludo the governor's wife which has helped many people to enhance their health status.


Also in a remark,a former Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Oko Dr.Stella Njaka urged mothers to emulate the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary to enhance their position as decent mothers in the society. Dr.Njaka further appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo's giant strides at three years in office.


Contributing,Lady Rosemary Nweke installed as a Pillar of the CWO of St.Patrick's Cathedral Parish, Awka, urged mothers to go the extra mile to bring up decent children in the society.


In faith and hope Lady Rosemary further encouraged them to emulate the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary.


Some other Pillars of St.Patrick's Cathedral Parish Awka, Lady Bridget Okonkwo and Lady Beatrice Nwude represented by Mrs.Ngozi Nwude expressed appreciation on their elevation and promised to do more for the parish.
