 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. 17-YEAR-OLD ANAMBRA GIRL, MMESOMA OKONKWO, EMERGES WORLDWIDE BEST IN ENGLISH CAMBRIDGE EXAM

In a moment of national pride, 17-year-old Mmesoma Okonkwo, a brilliant student from Anambra State, has been named the Overall Best in English Language in the prestigious Cambridge International Examination — a global assessment taken by students across the world.


Mmesoma, who also recorded A1 in all 9 subjects in her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC), has stunned the academic world with her exceptional performance.


A product of Chrisland High School, Victoria Garden City (VGC), where she served as the Head Girl of the 2023 set, Mmesoma has been widely recognized for her leadership qualities and academic excellence. She received multiple awards throughout her secondary school journey, solidifying her place as one of the brightest young minds in the country.


Mmesoma Okonkwo has expressed her desire to study Business Administration at the tertiary level, a path many believe she will excel in, given her consistent track record.
