 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Ballon d’Or 2025 to Feature Equal Awards for Men and Women


The Ballon d’Or award ceremony, scheduled for September 22, 2025, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, will feature an equal number of awards for male and female footballers for the first time, organizers announced on Monday. France Football magazine and UEFA confirmed the addition of three new women’s categories: best women’s goalkeeper, best young women’s player, and top women’s scorer for club or national team.


This brings the total to six awards for male players and six for female players, alongside the gender-neutral Socrates Award, which recognizes actions promoting solidarity. Nominees for all categories will be announced in early August.


The announcement follows last year’s controversy, when Real Madrid boycotted the ceremony after learning their Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior did not win the best men’s player award, which was awarded to Manchester City’s Rodri. The 2025 ceremony aims to mark a new era of gender parity in recognizing football excellence.
