 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  El-Rufai’s Son, Bello Backs President Tinubu’s Re-election Bid, Distances Himself From Father’s SDP Move


Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North and son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has thrown his support behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term, distancing himself from his father’s recent defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).


Bello made his stance clear during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit held in Abuja, where President Tinubu was formally endorsed as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 general election.


This development follows Nasir El-Rufai’s exit from the APC in March 2025, citing a divergence in values. The former governor joined the SDP with a pledge to unify the opposition in a bid to unseat the ruling party in the next election.


Bello’s endorsement of Tinubu has stirred political discourse. Commenting on the matter, political commentator Reno Omokri remarked, “If El-Rufai can’t convince his son to leave Tinubu, how will he convince Nigerians?”
