 DG NEMA Takes Disaster Risk Reduction Awareness To Primary School Pupils in Abuja The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has visited LEA Primary School, Durumi, Abuja where she engaged pupils in an interactive session on disaster prevention and safety awareness. The visit which formed part of NEMA’s ongoing efforts to promote disaster risk reduction education among young Nigerians and build a culture of safety from an early age. A statement by Manzo Ezekiel, Head, Press Unit indicates that while addressing the pupils, Mrs. Zubaida Umar emphasized the importance of basic safety habits and simple disaster mitigation measures that children can adopt both at home and in school. She taught the pupils practical steps to reduce risks associated with common emergencies such as fire outbreaks, flooding, and unsafe play environments.  The Director General encouraged them to be safety conscious, remain alert to potential dangers in their surroundings, and promptly report hazar...

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, heartily congratulates retired Inspector-General of Police, Aliyu Ibrahim Atta, GCON, CFR, NPM, mni, as he marks his 88th birthday today, Monday, 12th May, 2025.


IGP Egbetokun extols the remarkable life and career of IGP Atta, a towering figure in the annals of Nigerian policing whose wisdom, discipline, and visionary leadership helped shape the Force during a critical era of national development. As one of the most distinguished elder statesmen in the policing community, IGP Atta’s contributions to nation-building, public service, and institutional integrity remain a reference point in law enforcement history.


The Nigeria Police Force honours his dedication, noble legacy, and continued inspiration to generations of police officers. His journey stands as a testament to enduring service and patriotic commitment.


The entire Police family joins the nation in wishing IGP Aliyu Ibrahim Atta continued good health, peace, and fulfilment as he celebrates this milestone age of 88.
