 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  Limpopo radio DJ arrested for allegedly raping a minor relative


A 34-year-old prominent radio personality from the Vhembe District, Limpopo, has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 06-year-old relative at her residence in Mpheni Block B.


The suspect, who works as a DJ at a radio station based in Thohoyandou, was apprehended on Monday following a thorough investigation by Waterval SAPS detectives.


He made his initial appearance before the Waterval Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, where proceedings were postponed to 27 May 2025 for a formal bail application.


Police reports indicate that the incident allegedly occurred on 12 May 2025 at approximately 15:30. The girl's mother, who was in Pretoria at the time, was notified by the child's grandmother that the minor was unwell.


Upon returning home immediately, she learned that the child had already been taken to the hospital, where medical examination confirmed sexual assault.


During subsequent interviews, the child disclosed that the suspect had shown inappropriate material before committing the alleged assault.
