 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  NAF RELIGIOUS LEADERS TAKE GLOBAL STAGE AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY TO ADVANCE STRATEGIC FAITH-BASED PEACEBUILDING


In a move to deepen national unity and enhance operational effectiveness through moral and spiritual guidance, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) nominated the Directors of its three Religious Directorates to participate in an intensive course on Strategic Leadership in Faith-Based Peacebuilding, Mediation, and Inter-Religious Dialogue at Georgetown University, Washington DC.


The initiative, which aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s third Key Enabler, deliberate training and force development, underscores NAF’s forward-thinking approach to tackling the root causes of insecurity, especially the rise of religious extremism and sectarian divisions. It reflects a clear understanding that strategic religious leadership is pivotal to fostering enduring peace within the armed forces and across the country.


The course, organised by the International Centre for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) in partnership with Georgetown University, brought together religious and security actors from around the world to share best practices in faith-based mediation, peacebuilding, and conflict transformation. Through dynamic lectures, case studies, interactive workshops, and immersive cultural experiences, NAF religious leaders gained exposure to global models of interfaith engagement and practical skills in conflict-sensitive leadership.


This initiative represents another milestone in the Air Force’s ongoing journey to build a force that is not only lethal in combat but also compassionate in conduct, championing peace, moral clarity, and national unity.
