 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Injury


Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi was rushed to hospital for emergency abdominal surgery on Monday following an injury sustained during the team’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Leicester City at the City Ground on Sunday.


The Nigerian international collided with a goalpost while attempting to convert a cross from teammate Anthony Elanga. Despite receiving several minutes of on-field treatment and attempting to continue, the full extent of the injury was not apparent until Forest’s medical staff conducted further assessments on Monday. The club confirmed that Awoniyi was immediately taken for surgery, which is not believed to be life-threatening.


In a statement posted on their X account, Nottingham Forest said, “The Club can confirm Taiwo Awoniyi has undergone urgent surgery following an abdominal injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Leicester City. Everyone at Nottingham Forest sends their best wishes to Taiwo. The Club will provide further updates when appropriate.”
