 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Injury


Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi was rushed to hospital for emergency abdominal surgery on Monday following an injury sustained during the team’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Leicester City at the City Ground on Sunday.


The Nigerian international collided with a goalpost while attempting to convert a cross from teammate Anthony Elanga. Despite receiving several minutes of on-field treatment and attempting to continue, the full extent of the injury was not apparent until Forest’s medical staff conducted further assessments on Monday. The club confirmed that Awoniyi was immediately taken for surgery, which is not believed to be life-threatening.


In a statement posted on their X account, Nottingham Forest said, “The Club can confirm Taiwo Awoniyi has undergone urgent surgery following an abdominal injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Leicester City. Everyone at Nottingham Forest sends their best wishes to Taiwo. The Club will provide further updates when appropriate.”
