Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION HAS TERMINATED A $600 MILLION CONTRACT WITH MODERNA TO DEVELOP A BIRD FLU VACCINE, CITING SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT MRNA TECHNOLOGY. (PHOTO).

The Trump administration has terminated a $600 million contract with Moderna to develop a bird flu vaccine, citing safety concerns about mRNA technology.

This decision comes as H5N1 continues spreading through livestock, with over 173 million birds culled and nearly 1,000 cattle herds infected. While 70 humans have been infected with one death reported, scientists warn the virus could mutate into a more dangerous form.

HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon stated this decision reflects concerns about mRNA being "under-tested," despite the technology's successful deployment during COVID-19. Moderna defended their research, showing their bird flu vaccine produces a "rapid, potent and durable immune response."

This move raises critical questions about balancing safety protocols with pandemic preparedness.
