 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  Undocumented Foreign National Arrested with Drugs Worth R150,000 in Mokopane


A 38-year-old foreign national has been arrested after being found in possession of drugs worth around R150,000 in Mokopane.


On Friday, 9 May 2025, at about 15:30, the Provincial Organised Crime Unit acted on a tip-off about a man allegedly selling drugs in the area. The suspect was reportedly using a white Volkswagen Polo with Limpopo plates.


Police, with the help of a private security company, spotted the vehicle on Thabo Mbeki Street. When the suspect noticed the officers, he tried to drive away, leading to a short chase.


The car was stopped and searched. A box containing Kat drugs was found on the passenger seat. The suspect was arrested on the spot and faces charges of drug dealing and possession.


He is expected to appear in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court on Monday, 12 May 2025.
