 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. A KENTUCKY WOMAN CRASHED INTO A SAVE A LOT STORE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE INTO THE STORE.(PHOTO).

 A Kentucky woman crashed into a Save A Lot store at a high rate of speed and was ejected from the vehicle into the store.


A Georgetown Police Officer clocked a vehicle being operated by Amber Samokar going 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on McClelland Circle at 1:50 a.m.,  Monday morning. The officer wheeled around to initiate a stop but discovered the vehicle had crashed on US 25.


The officer then approached the vehicle to check the condition of the driver, however as he was approaching the vehicle, Amber sped off. The officer made his way back to his cruiser and contacted dispatch for permission to pursue.  


Before he could receive that permission the incident came to a shocking conclusion. The vehicle slammed into the front of the Save A Lot grocery store on Broadway. The impact sent Amber Samokar through the windshield of her vehicle and into the store.


Officers quickly located Samokar suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.


When Amber Samokar is released from the hospital she is facing a long list of charges. Amber is being charged with fleeing and evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer, reckless driving, criminal mischief, DUI and speeding.
