 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  DEMS WANT TRUMP IMPEACHED OVER IRAN BOMBING


Several Democratic lawmakers have voiced their desire to have President Donald Trump impeached over his decision to bomb Iran.


While numerous world leaders have voiced their shock and disapproval that the US got involved in the Israel-Iran war, even a few Republicans have expressed their disappointment with Trump.


Republican Thomas Massie said without mincing words that it "is not constitutional" for Donald Trump to order a strike on Iran.


Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has spoken against the strikes, said what the president did is outside the books. 


Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, made it clear that “the President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorisation is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers.


“He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”


So far, only Democrats have clamoured for Trump's impeachment despite some of them acknowledging that they lack the votes to press through with their demands.
